Watch the first minutes of this movie and you might think you’re watching the wrong version because it starts with French dialogues. Of course that happens all the time in French movies but seldom in US American like the one we’re looking for today.
Like many films it’s based on a play but it’s said to retain only a single line of the original play. Oh, and it’s a pre-Code talkie so there are some things in there one couldn’t see/hear the next twenty years after its release in US pictures.

Instead of the porterhouse steak our hero longs for he just get meatballs. So you know one thing already. The male protagonist of this movie is not a vegetarian.
The movie you can guess today for isn’t the best movie of all times. It has some funny scenes but a rather strange plot about an American woman married to an Austrian baron with lot of Nazis involved and Hitler invading country after country…as it turns out the baron is a nefarious Nazi spy who travels all over Europe with his American wife just before these countries are invaded. Which movie are we looking for?
