We’re looking this time for a movie that’s an adaptation of a 1943 radio play. In the above shown scene Miss Elizabeth Jennings is playing bingo and the protagonist wants to speak with her on the phone to find out if Miss Jennings knows where her husband is. Miss Jennings, who is the secretary of the protagonist’s husband, is rather reluctant to leave her bingo session and only listens to the page boy after another person has won.

This one should be easier to guess than the Bella Spruce post. Both Polly Byrnes and Robert Landis actually play in the movie you should guess. Polly sings two songs in the movie Smoke Dreams and Blow That Horn.
And if you don’t know it already, I’m sure you know it after reading the following quote:
“You see, when it comes to words like that, an illiterate person…”
“Whaddaya mean “illiterate”? My father and mother were married right here in the city hall!”
