The film is based upon a 1921 Saturday Evening Post two-part short story The Song of the Dragon. It received only two Academy Award nominations: Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay.

We’re looking this time for a movie that’s an adaptation of a 1943 radio play. In the above shown scene Miss Elizabeth Jennings is playing bingo and the protagonist wants to speak with her on the phone to find out if Miss Jennings knows where her husband is. Miss Jennings, who is the secretary of the protagonist’s husband, is rather reluctant to leave her bingo session and only listens to the page boy after another person has won.
