Bella Spruce

November 27th, 2005 at 23:56 (1930s)

This is from a movie of the late 1930s. But beware neither Bella Spruce nor Letty Finhadden actually appear in the movie. The female protagonist only claims these names to confuse her husband. Here’s a quote from the movie to make it easier for you to guess which movie I’m talking about:

“Why mommie, you know better than to come to a place like this your first day out of bed. What if the health officers find you? They’ll put you right back in quarantine.”
“I won’t stay in quarantine. I don’t care who catches it!”

  1. I’ve been deliberately refraining from commenting on this one from day one. Firstly because of your excellent performance in it, Mr. Asta, and secondly because of the title; I’m allergic to the word “thin”.

But….I’ve also got itchy fingers that just can’t keep away from the keyboard..

    “Another Thin Man”

  2. Now I’m really scared…Another Thin Man is right once again…besides Mr. Asta the movie also offered a nice explanation why one should have a child:
“What’s the idea of the kid?”
“Well, we have a dog, and he was lonesome. That was the idea, wasn’t it, mommie?”
